A. What is the article about?
This article is about a Faribault Middle School teacher named, Shelly Ann Prieve. She was placed on "leave" when accused from a parent about inappropriate behavior, which consisted of text messages to her students. However, the school had students waiting to publish an article about their former teacher but couldnt, but had one in the Dailey News. The investigation is still ongoing. but is said to be closed soon.




B. What do you think about the material/information in this article? How does it seem to fit with our journalism class?
I believe in our class nothing like this would ever be allowed. I feel we have a strict policy on what we can and what we cant publish. And knowing our school board they wouldnt allow an article in our paper being negative about a former teacher. I know 100% it would never be allowed! However, i think the kids who tried to get the acticle in their paper are very determined journalists and i tip my hat to them for trying hard.



C. What questions are you left with? What kind of articles in journalism would you like to read next?
I'm left with, what ended up happening to the teacher?
Was she put in jail?
Is she allowed to still have contact with her students?
How did the school board find out?
